Creating Combination Resumes

Combination Resumes (Chronological/Functional)
Free Resume Samples

Combination resumes are used by candidates to highlight special accomplishments while giving employment history in chronological order.

The major categories are:
  • Summary
  • Accomplishments
  • Experience
  • Education
  • Skills
Other categories can be:
  • Professional Objectives
  • Professional Memberships
  • Honors
  • Certifications
A combination resume combines elements of the Chronological and Functional Resumes.

This resume style gives you the opportunity to highlight your skills and accomplishments, documented by a brief chronology of your work experience.

The Combination Resume focuses on jobs you can do and the skills you have for each job.

One of my free resume samples is an example of a Combination Resume. Please use it to help you create your own resume.

The resume is not difficult to create, it just takes a basic knowledge of how a Chronological and a Funtional resume are structured. You may wish to review these two types of resume in order to familiarize yourself with them.

Many of the resumes that I have written for people have been the combination resume. They seem to like it's flexibility and strong presentation features. Recruiters seem to like the fact that it brings out a person's skills as well as a time stamp on how many years those skills cover.
